  • Sleeping in Changi Airport

    Hi guys,

I'll be arriving SIN around 11pm on friday night and should be able to check in my hotel only when the sunrise.

Wonder is it ok to sleep around the transit area and only exit the airport only in the morning? Is there any problem with the security as there is one time that my friends were spotting at T1 Viewing mall and there is one group of army questioning him for over 20mins.

Hope you guys could clarify my thoughts.

    Cheers

Is there a particular reason why you are willing to go through the hassle of messing around trying to sleep in an area that was not designed for sleeping rather than getting a hotel for the night ?.

Another thing you need to consider is whether or not you have any checked-in luggage. You can also consider the transit hotel located at T3.
God must have been a ship owner, he placed the raw materials far from where they are needed and covered two-thirds of the earth with water...

Its Friday night! Go into the city and party. But really you would be best off to use the transit hotel, like MAN Flyer and Pinkfloyd said. Otherwise you will have to put up with Security checking you out, its their job.

Probably cost (not that I would do it but my circumstances now are somewhat different from say twenty years ago!).

          Have a look at:

Budget is 1 of the reason. Another reason is as a plane spotter, i would like to do night spotting around the airport at night.

            Thanks jhm for the link.

If you go up the escalator that leads to Krisflyer Gold Lounge in T3, there's a huge empty space and there are hardly any people. If you have a sleeping bag, you will do ok I think.

T3 has a rest area with those inclined chairs.

                  Thanks guys.

Sleeping in Changi was a successful one.

Went to T1 at first near the GST refund counter. Bench was abit hard and position wasnt good. Lighting too bright and noisy due to renovation work at a shop.

No proper place to sleep in T2.

T3 inclined chairs near the massage area was the best. Quiet , dimmed light and very comfy chair which suit your body position.

However at 3am on one night while sleeping at T1. There is a bunch of aux police came asking for passport and ask which flight were/boarding on. Replied straight and they left without asking any further. I think they were going around just to complete their task of the day.

But anyhow, really appreciate all suggestion and feedback. Thank you very much.
