  • Ooh, Bollinger in J!

That is what we got served for the MUC-MAN leg of SQ328 this morning. Apparently it is what they load for them in MUC 'duty paid'.

First time I've had Bollinger on SQ.

Not a champagne expert, how did you find about the bollinger experience compared to the typical champagne offered onboard?

Bollinger is the best stuff in J for SQ so far!

No Bollinger on SQ326 yesterday - apparently not systemwide yet this enhancement

Perhaps they're still going through the last few cases of CH.

Sorry folks but I don't think this is a permanent switch, it seems to be a 'short hop/MUC-MAN/one-off' situation. The crew were a little surprised themselves.

I did manage to polish the bottle off, which was never the intention at that time and on that flight, but as they say ; a change is as good as a rest.

                Oh.

Which vintage btw? The Grand Annee '99 would've been . /wishful thinking

I can't remember, I was half asleep when they asked me what I wanted and I did explicitly say 'If you have a bottle open I'll have champagne, if not don't open one for me I'll have orange juice'. Next thing I heard was 'Pop'.

It wasn't Grand Annee, that's what TG are serving now in F as well as Dom, and actually admit it and list it in the menu now instead of pretending it was only Dom.

A mate has just flown PER-SIN in J and there was Bollinger on his flight! And to answer my own question, it's the NV Special Cuvee, still a very nice drop. The wine list for his flight stated Charles Heidsieck 'or' Bollinger. Seems like Bolly is here to stay.

Oh well that confirms it then. My menu (August) just had Charles Heidsieck.

Nice to have a choice in J.

Dunno whether the 'or' means a choice...at least for the pax. On my three flights in the past few days, 'or' in the menu meant SQ's choice. But on the bright side, Bollinger was as SQ's choice from MUC to SIN and the only champagne on the J menu for SQ948/947 to and from Bali.

No Bollinger uploaded on SQ859 today even it was stated on the menu.
                            Only CH....
So it's true, the choice was made by SQ, not by pax...

Yup, it seems a permanent fixture on the menu now, but the 'or' is in SQ's option, proven by SQ800 and 835 respectively with only CH. Was looking forward to the Bolly.

They also either didn't bother loading their premium sake onboard their flights to North Asia or ran out as there was none on the return leg last night.
