  • [HND] ANA Lounge in Haneda T2 International

Just back from a holiday in Japan! A TR will of course be in the works. On our return sector CTS-HND-SIN, I spent time at the ANA International Lounge at Haneda T2, which I'll cover here.

ANA has recently expanded the number of international flights out of Haneda T2, including NH843 to Singapore.

My previous flights out of Haneda departed out of T3, so this was my first opportunity to check out the relatively new ANA International Lounge at Haneda T2.

After deplaning at HND from my CTS-HND sector (An ANA code share operated by Air Do), I headed via a long connecting passageway to the international departures section of Haneda T2.

We had to clear security again before entering the T2 International Departures airside area.

My first stop was the ANA Lounge, which was the designated Star Gold Lounge.

This is a very new lounge. It was first opened in 2020, but was shut during the pandemic, and only re-opened in 2023.

First impressions...a very large and spacious lounge, with a very clean and minimalist decor theme...

It was not that busy when I was there at 10.15pm, but you could see that this lounge was built to handle peak hour crowds (Something SQ could possibly handle better at their Changi T3 lounges).

Many seating options, from sofa's to low counter-style seating...

    Individual seats and work tables...

Seats were in pastel, cream tones with dark leather accents...

    Dedicated dining area...

There was a good buffet selection comprising both hot and cold dishes, including Japanese and international dishes.

There was a full service bar.

I headed to the bar for a drink.

A nice selection of Japanese wine and liquor...

      The bar menu...

I ordered their signature "Sparkling" Blue...

      This was very refreshing!

        I headed to the buffet...

There was a live cooking station with a chef preparing dishes. It was quite late in the evening so there might have been a few cooked to order dishes available earlier, during dinner hours, which weren't available so late in the evening.

        Salads...

        ANA original beef consomme...

        Dumplings...

        ANA signature chicken curry...

        Rice from a machine...

Push a button and your bowl is filled with steaming, glistening Japanese rice...

        Veggies...

        Fried Chicken...

        Taiwan-style noodles with braised pork...

        Seafood pilaf...

There were restrooms and shower rooms in the lounge.

Not sure how accurate the wait times were for the shower, the times shown did look a bit long considering that the lounge was not that busy.

There were luggage storage lockers at the entrance -- very convenient if you were heading to the shops downstairs (Although there didn't appear to be that many shopping options in the airside area compared to T3).

Overall I would say this was quite an impressive lounge, and one I would be quite comfortable spending a long time in. Design-wise, it did look slightly minimalist, and not as striking a design as some of the best out there, but I did like the openness and spaciousness of the lounge. Highlights for me included the drinks and the catering.

I prefer this lounge to the other ANA lounges I have visited at HND previously (Including the ANA Lounge in T3, formerly known as the International Terminal, covered here).

Note that SQ flights out of Haneda still depart out of T3, so SQ pax will still use the T3 ANA Lounge, not this one.

My flight out, NH843 HND-SIN, was a 00:25 HRS departure, and this lounge was a great pit stop to rest and eat before the flight, as the catering format for NH843 only offers a refreshment pack (snack/bottled water) and drinks after take-off, with a full hot meal 2.5 hours prior to arrival.

                  Thanks for reading!

Yes, this is a different lounge from the one ANA used to use before they moved some flights to T2. I much prefer this lounge!

Can't wait to write up the Japan/Hokkaido TR too! But still haven't finished my previous MEL/SYD/AKL TR either! So many TRs to write, so little time!
