4 x J Award Tix

Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of bringing my entire family out for a regional holiday. I've got enough for 4 Biz Tix but I checked online and only 2 are available. I've tried to call KF and their lips are pretty tight.

Anyone know whats my chances like if I choose to waitlist, or perhaps I should just go Econs?

4 J is really hard if not impossible on SQ at one go, ie all at once, the best you could do is to go for 2J and waitlist the other two J which may be released as the dates get closer and flights are not full however idk, but generally whenever we had the dilemna, we chose 2J+2Y as we got all the J ground services which helped alot!

I guess you're right. 2J is better than nothing. I guess I'll settle for this than. Cheers!

Depends on which route as well.

You can try to get the two seats first, and see what happens. Another two may become available.

I was able to get four seats from SIN to PEK.

Book the 2x J first.

Then call. And Call. And call...

Call KF. Everyday until you fly.

Keep calling... your luck may change!

Remember, when in doubt - call!

Does SQ yield management ever dump extra seats online closer to the date?

Helps if you have miles elsewhere too. I did a 4x J ticket on SQ (regional though), 2 using Krisflyer miles, 2 using UA miles.

I managed to book 4 J Tix. What I did was to use 2 computers, and 2 different KF Accounts to book 2 x 2 J Tix at the same time. 1 x 4J wouldn't work but 2 x 2J works.

So thats all. Cheers

That's a good idea, the only negative is you must have miles in both accounts!

This isn't really an issue for me, but I was pretty surprised that this actually works. I tried this out just for fun, and was pretty shocked when it went through the first round. But I didn't have the relevant miles in my Mrs's account, so delayed it couple of days while I transfer some miles from Credit Cards across, and voila, it works.

But I do have my concerns. With all that bad news about downgrading and offloading recently going on about SQ, I'm wondering if they will actually kick me out eventually. Hope not...

May be a good idea to quickly check-in online once it opens 48hrs ahead of departure.... and print out your boarding pass.

Not sure if that will guarantee your seat but I suppose if they offload anybody, they'll go first for those who try to check-in at the airport, right?

Anyway - great to hear of your success story. Now I have some hope for my family travel. Haha...

Of course you can, anyway with SQ you still need to verify your self-printed boarding pass at the check-in counters (there are people walking about near the self check-in machines who will check your passport and stamp the print-out).

Haha... I am travelling this weekend with only my wife. She has 2 big suitcases and I have a little carry-on.

My flight's completely booked solid in J and both of us are on saver redemption. I will also check-in way ahead and print out the boarding pass to avoid the unthinkable. In all my years of flying with SQ, i'v never been off-loaded, though. Don't want to experience it.
