I knew it!!!! Was buying a bottle last week and noticed that - sales girl stated that it was the usual discount and I actually couldn't remember the old one but it didn't feel right...

    What a bunch of !

Let's see how cocky they get when the load really drops... I've been getting improved corporate rates notes twice this month...

Have we considered the other side of the coin???

It could have been that DFS is reducing the discount rather the SQ. The latter are not the merchant of duty free, DFS is. Any discounts offered to PPS members are from DFS and not SQ. Any cut back on this benefit may not be the fault of SQ at all.

Less discount, more earning for DFS, end of the day, it is the bottomline.

Thank you for giving us a great reasoning!

The PPS Lifestyle Privilege Programme is a benefit of PPS membership, provided by Singapore Airlines. It is already not a very valuable programme with few interesting benefits, but the discount at DFS is one of the better benefits.

While it is correct to say that the perks offered are mostly determined by the individual vendor, SQ (a) has negotiating power over the vendor and (b) has an overall responsibility to ensure the programme has some value to members.

So to suggest that SQ has no culpability in this decision is not logical. And in the broader context of PPS benefits being cut back, I think this is relevant.

Please chill out. There is absolutely nothing personal intended in my comments towards any board member. Just debating facts here.

Unfortunately your line of argument no longer stands as DFS is no longer a PPS Lifestyle Privilege Programme Partner for a while now, and I am thankful for the discount DFS offer albeit at a lower rate.

i think the whole issue abt to me is the communication to PPS members. Although i know they have the rights not to inform prior to any changes, they should at least let us know by email instead of keeping it silent hoping that we do not notice the cut back. This is rather lame in my opinion.

SQ published the PPS Lifestyle Privilege Programme in a booklet form every 6 months to keep PPS members updated about addition or removal of merchant partners, and postal mail it to every single PPS member. Isn't this communication?
