  • Krisworld keeps breaking down?

    Don't know if Im just unlucky or something, but Krisworld keeps crashing on my flights. Most of the time, just my seat. It's been happening more frequently lately. I just hate watching a movie halfway and seeing a black screen with hundreds of words

    Anyone else encounter this sort of problem, or can I just call myself unlucky?

        It happens quite a lot, you are not the only one. Had it on the my last flight SIN-PER, had to change seats. There is a thread about it here:

              Sorry, was just messing with our friend the OP there - I can't recall ever having Krisworld fail on me in all my flights, however... (there might have been once but I think that was quite a long while ago and it could have been LX, not SQ)

                I had it happen to me several times recently on a 744. Kept crashing and rebooting- the words you see are the start-up scripts like when you turn on your PC. The software was dated 1998 so it's probably performing well for something so ancient in computer years!

                  I had it happen to me on SQ328 on Sunday. Half way through a film a box come up saying "Interactive mode disabled" Then the sound went. Everything else worked but no sound. I called an FA and she rebooted it for me and then it was perfect.

                  A few minutes later the person directly in front of me and behind me had problems with the IFE. Both had theirs rebooted as well.

                    The software was dated 1998 so it's probably performing well for something so ancient in computer years!
                    You could be suprised, in the computer world 1998 isn't necessarily old. For terminals like that.

                      Took 4 flights on 4 different SQ planes in the last couple of weeks, and KrisWorld crashed on each one/seat. Usually mid movie, stuttering and pausing.. then weird white stripey screen.. then black screen.. then dead.
                      Re-boots from the CC seem to get it going again though.

                      PS. What happened to In-Flight Trivia Challenge..? it was my favourite game!

                            Only time I had a major problem with the IFE was on a BKK-SIN flight where it was working but it was snowy and partially scrambled. It was on 9V-SRA, but I believe this a/c is no longer with SQ (unsure).

                              I wouldn't say it "keeps" breaking down for me but I have had a relatively high percentage (in my opinion) of flights where there is some terminal or close to terminal issue with the IFE. By relatively high I'd say 20-30% of flights.

                              Last time was a month ago on SIN - IST in Business. IFE just stopped and rebooted every 15 minutes that I just gave up. Went to sleep and when I woke up and tried again, same issue. about 30 minutes later the Leading Steward comes up to me, apologises profusely (even though I hadn't complained) and gave me a $200 KrisShop voucher as reparation. Now that's service!
