No More Hot Towels

Those hot towels are gone: replaced by tin-foil packets containing a cold wet nappy. Not good.

As I understand it, it's hygenic -- to reduce chances of influenza spreading. I guess someone figures warm, wet towels are good homes for viruses.

It'll be interesting to see if the towels come back once the panic over Swine Flu subsides.....

I just travelled on SUnday evening (17 May). SQ is still providing hot towels on my flight (SIN->DAC)

I had hot towels on the way up to HKG and back... Perhaps you got wet wipes as the oven heating the towels were spoilt last min.

I had the prepacked cold nappies both on the way to LAX (12 May) as well as back to SIN (15 May). Must be due to higher flu risk on the US route...

i flew SIN-HKG last week and had hot towels. then HKG-SFO i got the cold disposable ones. LAX-NRT cold disposable ones then NRT-SIN i got disposable ones which they tried to heat up so was a little warm.

I remembered reading from one of the local papers a couple of weeks ago that flights to US will be using paper wipes instead of hot towels.
