Best thing to do is to vote with your pocket! The main thing about air travel is to move from Point A to Point B. I look at it the following ways:
1. If you think you could bear without SQ on some flights and save money, better to do so.
2. If money is not an issue and find it hard not to fly SQ, better to stick with SQ
3. If money is a big issue, better to wean off SQ.
I think I belong to the first category but again this will depend whether I keep my pay and job and in that case will fall to category 3.

Its incredible to see SQ still charging US$22 (Y) and $29 (C) per sector for SIN-Asean coutries and medium-haul routes. Whereas, no cut in the long-haul routes
To put things in perspective, CX is now charging a mere US$8 for short and medium-haul routes; and US$36 for long-haul routes.

That's why I am taking CX to TPE from SIN even if I need to spend 2 hours more on the plane.Originally posted by YK@HKG View PostIts incredible to see SQ still charging US$22 (Y) and $29 (C) per sector for SIN-Asean coutries and medium-haul routes. Whereas, no cut in the long-haul routes

Yep, it was 70% on their longhaulers.Originally posted by Guy Betsy View PostOn their international routes? Cos I know domestic flights have zero fuel surcharges, and ASEAN aren't that high either. But MH hits you on long haul international routes!
