Thanks for posting the unaltered IFE screen!
It does make a clear understanding what a small alteration that we all talk about.

For those of you still in suspense, here is a pic from 9V-SVA that hasn't had the modification (as of Dec 08)Originally posted by MAN Flyer View Post

I chose to cut your post above to give you another example. Remember the hard-to-see F logo on the white table cloth? I remembered how we all took sometimes to notice there was a slight modification in the white table cloth in F class.Originally posted by N_Architect View Postpeople who are familiar ... having done quite a few trips and are quite observant would spot ...

well, if we look closely in SQ LPP's pics and the ones MANFlyer and I posted, it is clear what the modification is
people who are familiar with J cabin layout having done quite a few trips and are quite observant would spot the additional back panel - I didn't
red lock levers were all green in my first return to base few days ago - the LSS flipped them at an instant, in red they are locked, I guess
well spotted anyway

That's the one !!.Originally posted by SQ LPP View PostI hope I am not confused here. I don't think the alteration is about the lock (red color in picture). I think the alteration was for the second piece of rectangular box in between the wall and the IFE. Thus the screen is a bit nearer to pax eye vision and had a better angle for avoiding the glare.
I sat in 11A and as nobody was in 11C, so as usual I fired up 11C's IFE screen to bring the map up so I can watch our progress while watching what I wanted on my screen.
I thought it looked different as I have done this before. I asked the LSS when she passed and she said it was new and they were progressively being done as they went in for maintenance.

SQ LPP was not referring to the red lock lever (which locks the tilt of screen at take off/landing) but rather the additional back panel. This is what I gather from the picture.Originally posted by Kiwi View PostI don't take photos so I don't have proof, but I do remember sitting in the bulkhead row on the red-eye from AKL and the FA locks the monitor before landing.

Are you opening a special gift from SQ that you are not letting us know about it? Could this be part of the God-Like treatment we have been waiting for SQ to dispense to some of her passengers?Originally posted by SQ LPP View PostI was not too sure though. I think there were only one piece on the wall, then they added one more piece (look at the picture). That's why I am not so sure when.
This is from June 2007 on board 744. You see the screen has one piece only.
