  • SQ Airbus A380 Withdrawal Thread

The first five SQ A380s retired from the SQ A380 fleet were registered 9V-SKA through to 9V-SKE. More recently, 2 SQ A380s 9V-SKG and 9V-SKH were scrapped in SIN.

Here is a photo album of the SQ A380 fleet including the retirees

An SQ A380 has been spotted untitled and engineless near Changi Terminal 4. Does anyone know her registration?

As for the identity of the mystery A380,

One of the two more likely candidates is 9V-SKI.

SQ should deploy A380 on all SIN-LHR 4 daily flights for the next 6 months. Every flight to LHR is currently packed for the 1-2 mths. At least 95% of seats sold based on current aircraft assignments.

The reason for non deployment of A380 cant be because they are short on A380s.

Aren't some old A380's still parked in ASP at this time? I know SKU-SKZ are back in the air along with a few other aircraft. Like SKI, SKJ, SKK, SKL, SKP, SKQ. Even if they come back, they would have to retrofit them and then deploy as in 1 thread it was made known that SQ will not deploy an A380 without its new products.

Even if they were short, they could always put more flights to LHR with an A350 unless there's an issue with slots at LHR

SKI, SKJ, SKK, SKL has left the fleet. SKP is still stored in ASP. SKQ is undergoing refit now.
Should make a total of 12 A380s once all are returned to service.

Not sure why someone think that it is easy to get extra slots at LHR.

anyway, SQ can bring back 2 of the older A380 and deploy on Mumbai and Delhi route. Only 5hours routing.

The newer one can be deploy on the Europe/US/australia route.

I'm sure SQ would not have any difficulties filling up an A380 now. Travel demand is through the roof with sky high prices...
