Looks like passengers were kept on board for 8 hours sitting on tarmac before take off at 21:29, I bet there would have been a few unhappy customers.

SKG has a seating capacity of 441 but only 300 passengers were on board.

I guess that gives a bit of space to spread out and it wouldn't be much different to sitting in a gate lounge that long, except there's not IFE.

Where did they get the new crew from though? 8 hour delay + 10 hour flight.

Probably from the crew that arrived on Saturday and are supposed to be operating Monday flight back to SIN.

Do crew get a 48-hour layover in some cities? I had always assumed it'd be 24 hours then return the next day.

Yup. Depends on the routes they fly and flight times. I believe AKL is 2 nights, but I may be wrong.

              Europe is usually 2 nights.

They overnight (1 night) on Australian flights.

Interesting. I guess that's why the job is attractive! There's got to be something nice in return for what they have to go through.
