  • Singapore Airlines records low passenger numbers on CBR-WLG flights

    Saw this article online:

Singapore Airlines records low passenger numbers on Canberra flights

Will the low number of passengers push Singapore Airlines to deploy an aircraft with lower seats, or will the number of passengers increase as the visibility of the route increases?

A week is too little data points in my opinion to make any conclusion.

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to title the article 'Singapore Airlines records low passenger numbers on Wellington flights' since it is the CBR-WLG vv. sector the one it is referring to?

I doubt SQ expected that it would fill planes from Week 1. It will take time to grow.

If QR is also planning to fly all the way from DOH, the airport must be showing them some kind of data that looks decent, one would presume.

One would presume, but perhaps not:
The ACT Government fought hard for the Singapore route, however it was not consulted by Qatar Airways before the announcement was made.
            ...
"We're very keen to have conversations with Qatar Airlines, if that's part of their proposal."

Ahhh... The whims of the ME3! Sometimes I wonder if their route planning involves a dartboard...

I recall the both Wellington and Canberra put millions of dollars into the route, even to get Singapore Airlines to start. I am sure there has been some undertaking that the route would exist for a particular time at least.
