      No idea - the random date I searched for was October.

        so, after tinkering with things a little bit, i think have something resembling a valid RTW- at least star alliance said it was valid. i will defer to the experts here, because i firmly believe SQ'ers possess a far greater wealth of knowledge. i would do the RTW ex-US, starting in NYC and ending in San Francisco, where my family lives. Proposed itinerary is:
        dec. 1
        JFK--> FRA via SQ (stayover)
        travel within Europe (hopefully Zurich, Amsterdam, London, Paris and then Barcelona)

        dec. 25
        BCN--> SIN via SQ (transit) --> MEL (stayover, then travel to Tahiti and Bora Bora before heading to NZ)

        jan. 20
        AKL--> SIN via SQ (stayover)

        jan. 23
        SIN--> NRT via SQ (stayover, then travel to Cheju and Seoul)

        Jan. 31
        ICN--> SFO

        KEITHMEL, I respectfully seek your assistance in determining whether i am complying with the labyrinth of rules regarding the RTW tickets. And can you tell me what the price for an SQ-only RTW ex-USA First Class is? Thanks everyone in helping my dream vacation become reality!!!! I'll bring back goodies as a token of my many thanks!!!!

          Fresh from expertflyer.com:
          An exUSA FEZSQ costs US$6699

          I think the following part of the rules is most relevant:
          THE FARE COMPONENT MUST NOT BE ON ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING SQ FLIGHT 0021 THROUGH 0022 SQ FLIGHT 0037 THROUGH 0038 SQ FLIGHT 1000 THROUGH 7999 SQ FLIGHT 9000 THROUGH 9999. NOTE - TRAVEL ON SQ A345 NOT PERMITTED. AND THE FARE COMPONENT MUST NOT INCLUDE TRAVEL FROM/TO SOUTHWEST PACIFIC ON ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING ANY SQ FLIGHT. ... NO CITY MAY BE TRANSITTED MORE THAN ONCE IN THE ENTIRE JOURNEY.

          Get clarification from SQ about the SWP restriction - because I think it's weird they'd ban you from Australia/NZ for a RTW itinerary.

              Hmm - start exMEL?
              I could be interpreting that bit of the rule wrongly though - or maybe it's left in there by error. So best to ask SQ themselves.

                  taipeiflyer, if exNRT works for you, you can get a CRWSTAR1 (Star Alliance RTW fare 1 with max permitted mileage of 29 000) for US$5390 exNRT. I believe you have NRT as one of ** destinations?

                  You must either contact a *A carrier or TA in Japan, or a *A carrier or TA in Canada to get the exNRT fare.

                  A CRWSTAR1 is infinitely more flexible than the SQ product and you can include your domestic flights in the US (UA/US), your continental flights in Europe (LH/LX/LO/et al), and ** flights within SWP (Air NZ) in the ticket. And no pesky 'no SWP' restrictions. Then insert all the SQ flights you want for the long hauls. You're allowed up to a max of 24 flight coupons I believe. It's more expensive than the CEZSQ exTPE but consider the extras you get. The exNRT fare is also US$1000 cheaper than the same exTPE - just go up to NRT on an award ticket or something.

                  Unfortunately I've never done one of these things so I'll leave it to the xRWSTARx experts to help you with the planning.

                  Just remember to have sufficient proof of onward travel, ie itineraries with valid ticket numbers, from Japan when you first enter. So try to issue the tickets prior to arrival.

                    Just purchased a RTW SQ only from SYD. Was able to do SYD-SIN-NRT-LAX....JFK-FRA...BCN-SIN-SYD for great price.. AND could transit SIN twice...

                      A RTW starting in the SouthWest Pacific will allow you to transit SIN twice so that you can eventually come home.

                        Another ATW Challenge...

                        I posed this question via a PM to KeithMEL, but thought I'd open it up to the board under this thread since it was revived:

                        One of my clients needs me to be in TLV in Jan and they asked me what city I would need to fly out of. Thinking about this, I figured I might do the SQ Only ATW (since I want to spend some time in Tokyo and SE Asia again) and have them pick up the FRA=>TLV=>FRA portion, but then found that they had raised the US pricing from $4,990 to $6,850.

                        Question is, what's the best course of action here? An FRWSTAR1 out of NRT?

                        Thanks, everyone!

                          Alternatively you could get the FEZSQ ex-TPE for USD5714.
                          Others might be able to assist with cheaper RWSTAR or EZSQ locations.

                          You still need to get to point of origin to commence your ticket though, so that's an additional cost. Unless you happen to have a reason to get to TPE/NRT other than picking up the ticket?

                            Do you know the J fare, KeithMEL?

                              Getting to the starting point is not too much of a problem. I would prefer Europe as I would like to travel East, but Asia appears to be easier and less expensive.

                                I think there's a definitive list of fares somewhere for the alliance products (WearyBizTrvl on TOF prepared a spreadsheet comparing fares from each origin - can be found in the various alliance board stickies) but I'm not sure if there's a similar one for the Escapade or SQ-only varieties. In addition oneworld's can be found on their website.

                                Or you could spend some time playing with expertflyer.com
