SQ partners B6 and VX more in the US. ORD is a natural choice not so much because of the UA hub but the O&D demand, and SEA could be one to watch with the VX and Alaska Airlines merger - SQ could work with Alaska for feed for SEA.
Thanks for the insight. I'm not familiar with the exact relationship between SQ and UA; have heard that though officially partners they're hardly chummy.

    • We started the year with no nonstop flights to the US. Now we have UA2 and SQ32 minutes behind each another en route to SFO!

Another interesting tidbit- this route is the longest 787 flight, and now, also the longest A350 flight.

      • BTW, Air India today staked a claim (for 2 years) to the longest distance flight. It switched tracks of its DEL - SFO flight from a Westerly track (flown over the Atlantic) to an Easterly one (flown over the Pacific), giving it a distance of 15,300km. Flight time is, surprisingly, down to 14.5 hours from about 16.5 hours thanks to 138 km/h tailwinds on the sector.
