  • Suites and Food options

    Dear All,

Just bagged 2 suites savers from SIN-LON. Been in F before so its a treat at the end of a holiday in August.

Her that always must be obeyed was under enthused by it down to last time we flew in F : FRA-SIN-AKL-SIN-FRA she complained that the food selection for a vegetarian was poor in F.

She is a lacto-ovo and generally has western veg food on SQ (although once in J she was served scallops (no fish for her)).

I am wondering what the options are like in F and if its worth BTC but there seems one option only?

We will be SQ308 so its breakfast and lunch served.

Any help will be appreciated so I dont suffer too much earache and can ejoy the experience

    Regards
    Clowesy

The BTC roasted vegetable option is great.

I often order that on long flights with 2 meals service

Yup. I agree the roasted vegetable salad is not bad, only I only had that in J (nvr been on F or Suites before). Not sure if there could be any difference.

I had also tried Lemon and Mint Scented Artichoke Ravioli, but seems that it is no longer available in the BTC menu.

I have seen the following in the menu which I had not seen it before, but not so sure if it is vegetarian:

Sauteed Monkey-Head Mushroom with Dried Chilli
Sauteed monkey-head mushroom with dried chilli served with broccoli and braised ee fu noodle

It's either vegetarian or... the alternative is too gross to think about

LOL - At first read, I thought that Sauteed monkeyhead was definitely NOT vegetarian.

The only problems I can see though is with BTC is although the main meal will be vegetarian the other parts might not.

I did search for this on the board and found someone who managed to get BTC and VML in the same booking. This was a number of years ago.

            Can I still do this?

Monkeyhead mushrooms are absolutely delicious. Also, very expensive in the few places they can be ordered locally...

I tried this for flights with a single meals in the past years and did not have any success to report.

If there is more than 1 meal for that flight, I think it is possible to select vegetarian meal on one meal and BTC for the other? Not sure if this is a way to be served vegetarian stuff for non-main course items.

                  Thanks for the info.

I think she will just have to go with the veggie options. In my orginal OP she was underwhelmed by the food wheras my meal was fantastic.

Drink more Dom and all will be good.
