Airbus sold/leased out the A330s at a widely discounted price as part of the overall compensation package negotiated as part of the A380 delays. You have to cobble together some of the news sources as this dates back to 2006, but there's a reference in this article about it: http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/TH..._02142007.html

You had stated in your earlier post that SIA chose the A330 as a result of delays with the 787. In actual fact, there's no connection between the two -- the A330 order came right around the same time as the initial 787 order, long before the 787 had even entered production.

Let's not forget that Airbus and SIA put their muscle behind a massive marketing campaign around the first A380, and everyone had egg on their face when the plane didn't get delivered anywhere near on time. SIA was in the driver's seat during the compensation negotiations and managed to get a good deal out of Airbus. Of course, some would argue that Airbus gives everyone a good deal, and that accounts for their market share.

I'm afraid I'm not really seeing the connection in the article. With regard to the A330 it just says "it planned to lease 19 A330-300 planes from Airbus, too." That's just an added point of interest in my analysis of the text.

I think maybe more will leave the fleet within this time frame given that they are already about to return one that's less than half the age of the old 772s it could be otherwise used to replace. As I understand it, all the A330s were leased to fill in for the delay of future ordered craft, e.g. the 787s (which have since been transferred to TZ) and the A350s.
The first six A350-900s are due in calendar 2015 along with the five A330s (and the final three 77WNs).

Future 9V-SSD took another test flight at TLS yesterday. Not too far off now I would be guessing.

You can definitely tell the difference when on a new one. I was on SSB when it was only a couple of months old and everything was still so clean and shiny!

According to planespotters, 9V-SSC has now been assigned the testing rego. F-WWCU, c/n 1544. This is confirmed on the site TLS Watch. Activity for this craft on flightaware shows some testing activities at TLS in the last week.

9V-SSD is c/n 1562 but no F-WWxx yet or any sightings.
