18 hour layover & luggage question

No problems at all. And we're talking about Changi here.

That's what I expected when we wanted to do that at ICN (numerous world's best airport rave reviews notwithstanding, lol)... DENIED from SFO by UA

UA: "That's over 10 hours in Seoul, even if it's overnight"
Me: "but it's a transit of less than 24 hours"
UA: "Oh, but it's over 8 hours in Seoul"

I usually only (try to) travel with my carry-on, so bear with me. I have an eighteen hour long layover at Changi - will the staff at AMS be able to check my luggage through to my final destination? Both flights are operated by SQ, so I would assume so... Just checking.
