Not exactly one of my top destinations to go, but hey, if there's money to be made.

    All politics aside however.

I doubt Zimbabwe has sufficient tourist or premium demand to warrant serious SQ consideration.

Why not Air Zimbabwe to Singapore?

SQ does have a history of picking relatively weird destinations which are business driven. H/W, they will not be drawn into politics such as the zimbabwe issues.

There is sufficient premium demand on occasion...read the last sentence of this article:

So unca bob wants SQ to come? by all means. Just quote your fares in USD, instead of their worthless currency.

It used to be a very nice place - and I remember Harare well. I won't go back now that's for sure

Zimbabwe issue is actually only pissing of the west because of the white minority there, what does Singapore have to do with it? and are the above replies from native Singaporeans or foreigners?

                    What a bizarre post.

I suppose it's nothing to do with the thousands of people killed, thousands more made homeless, many more who lost their businesses and homes and countless people now starving in what was one of the wealthiest countries in sub saharan africa and is now a complete basket case.

much as i do not wish to be drawn into a racial argument, speaking as an asian / local singaporean, its hard to believe that anybody is not embarassed by mugabe or stricken by the plight of zimbabweans

As someone of sub-Saharan African origin I do not hold any grudge for the Burmese junta not pity for Aung San Su Kyi or the Burmese people, why? because it dosent concern me, and if my airline finds a market there which it can profit from and benefit the people in someway jobs? then so be it, but its likely they wont find a market there so end of discussion, Burmese politics is a non issue for my country and its airline as an unconcerned third party.

Now having said that neither am I from Africa nor do I believe you to be from Singapore, Indian ethnicity perhaps because they have a community there holding nationality ad may sympathise due to being discriminated against, but doubt any ethnic east/southeast asian gives two hoots, so spare the western brainswahed melodramatics.
