Can we request seats (that are not preferred seats) through email two months before departure?

If you purchase your tickets online, you should be able to choose your seats immediately (at the time of the purchase), right? You can also change the seats subsequently I belive.

u need to get your TA to do it... it is a little of a hit and miss, some times they don't do it in my experiences

By right TA is supposed to be able to do it (according to SQ), but the TA I used claims it can't be done.

Easier to call SQ Reservations directly at (65) 6223 8888 to request window or aisle seats or visit their ION office. From my limited experience their ION office may get the job faster than trying to get through the call center. Note that you can't reserve specific seats if you're flying in Y.
