and I see on the redemption booking availability page that "Suites" has been dropped and is now called "First".

I see they have released F & A class on selected flights now (maybe still updating).

Interestingly, 'First class' standard awards are available on certain 388 flights as well. Grab em while you can!

Anyone have a sense if A class will be made available to enable suites to be booked on RTW fares?

This is a bit confusing. From what I understand: R is for Suites only, F is for Suites and First, P for First only.

Also, what happens to current F ticket holders? Can they book into Suites cabin with their existing tickets (for routes served by both First and Suites)?

    It's Official

Enjoy the Singapore Airlines Suites at new attractive fares from 3 May 2011

For greater flexibility in responding to varying market demand, from 3 May 2011 we are adding new attractive fare levels, in the ‘F’ and ‘P’ fare classes, to the existing ‘R’ fare class for travel in the Singapore Airlines Suites.

The bonus for mileage accrual for travel in Suites in ‘F’ and ‘P’ booking classes will be 50%; that is, the miles earned on these fares will be 150% of the actual distance flown. The mileage accrual in ‘R’ fare class will continue to be 300% of the actual miles flown.

Please note: There is no change to the current redemption terms and conditions for the Suites. First Class redemption tickets, regardless of Award type, are not eligible for travel in Suites.

Anyway, glad to see another example of things heading in the right direction under the new CEO. I know there was a lot of face involved in the 'class beyond first', but the numbers speak for themselves so swallow your pride and move on.
Sorry you meant for tickets issued after 3rd May where they will open up Suites as F inventory or booking for 3rd May after? I did a dummy booking for 7 May, HKG>>>SIN and it is showing Suites still

Suites not working out, multi-year hole in the new aircraft delivery schedule, and now the small matter of a failed acquisition Downunder at his new gig.

Yes I suppose one could feel sorry for old CCS. I'd rather call it comeuppance for an arrogant fool...

I can't find a F fare for HKG on SQ webbie though. Have not tried the 3rd-party ones though. Perhaps its only bookable thru a TA

    Apparently so.

    No R?
    And hence no 300%?
Or still R but no 300%?
Or is Suites being sold as A?

    Please enlighten
Well, let's say that it's fact, not rumour, that the F booking class is now bookable on A380 flights. Whether this is a permanent or temporary change, I can't comment.
