  • SIN<=>MEL is getting a 2nd daily 744 services

All I'm aware of during the month of Apr, SYD will have 1 daily 744 flight (SQ221/212) plus the MEL also has 1 daily 744 flight (SQ237/228) since Nov 2010. However, during the recent booking from SQ web engine, it shows 2 daily 744 to & from MEL, as SQ12/11 NRT / LAX will keep its 744 service till mid-Apr, is this a system glitch or it's a schedule extra 744 services on SQ217/218 that I had miss out from the previous thread?

        73A is the reconfigured 777-300.

        For the moment:
SQ217/218 continues 777-300ER service till 29OCT11 for now
        SQ237/228 747-400 till 30JUN11, then switches to 777-300 (73A)

they should just throw in an A330 now and then for fun, just to mix it up for Melbourne a bit more. They make TG look CONSISTENT at the moment hehe

Yes an A330 and even a 777-200 here and there would add to the current mix

Well on my April 26 flight the plane has just switched to the 77W.

              SQ 217 SINGAPORE 26APR 9.55 AM J / I OK 0
              MELBOURNE 26APR 7.15 PM
              AIRCRAFT TYPE B777-300ER

Glad I looked as 2 of our three seat reservations had disappeared as always seems to happen whenever they switch plane types.

Plane has now changed to the 747-400.

each of the tw changes 2 of of 3 seat reservations in C were lost..and the ability to change on-line for those two seats has also disappeared.
No contact from SQ and so had to ring operator each time.

Also I only noticed the change because I looked.

Indeed which is why I booked it. 3 public holiday days to stretch out my leave to turn 2 weeks into almost 3.

Extra bonus of me was also taking advantage of the glitch that allowed booking Saver F and J on the 300ER into Milan. Another posted they had gotten it in July, but only in one direction, and I originally look at the July school Holidays as well, but then I looked at the Easter period and saw it was wide open in both directions.

For me weather and crowds are much better in April that July, and so I snapped it up. Will be my first SQ F experience going over.

Nice work, add to that the 10% bonus for transferring to SQ and that's a damn cheap flight

And it has now changed back to the 700-300ER again!!!

Annoyingly I had my preferred seats the first time around I got the ER...but now after changing back my seats were "lost" again and the seats I prefer are no longer available.

It annoys me how SQ dumps you out of your seats, and does not contact you in anyway. this has occurred 3 times now.

SQ Melbourne apparently pleaded for the 77W to be reinstated and got their way, so I heard.
