I know TG enough to know there is a 50:50 chance of being TG'd but it's still a disappointment when the effect is in the wrong direction. I can quantify it by saying on a few occasions I've been pleasantly surprised to see something better on the tarmac, alas still waiting for that on the BUS flights.

Big BUT here...... getting TG's F service (even the older one) cheaper than SQ's J by 30% or more, more than makes up, realistically, for any disappointment once I have time to weigh it all up. I would have been more p*ssed if I had to pay full whack.

I don't want to say anything negative about the French but why does CDG get improved before LHR?
I know a couple of the TG staff in London and they are baffled about Bangkok's behaviour over aircraft on the LHR flights. They have more or less given up promising a particular type of aircraft now as it was making them look silly to their corporate accounts by regularly promising the A380 was coming only to end up with an A346 or 744. From and F point of view they are not too bothered about getting the 380 as long as they get the refurbed nine seat 744.

Seated in 1K I had more privacy than most others on the flight (which was full) but everything was rundown. Carpeting was threadbare in places, the seat had holes, storage was dreadful and the toilets tiny. To consider that LHR should be considered a premium route I find it surprising that TG should treat it so badly. I don't want to say anything negative about the French but why does CDG get improved before LHR?

On the plus side, TG's excellent service was in evidence again and whilst old, the seat itself was relatively comfortable even for sleeping.
Ha ha no please, don't say anything against the French
Like you I had called TG and they said it's a new cabin... what a turn off !
I have to agree that CDG-BKK is big tourist route but LHR would, I'm sure, fill up the premium cabins...

I was in TG's A380 F heading to FRA (Durian; add FRA to your search) last year but was a little disappointed with the lack of privacy, especially compared to J seats on the same aircraft which I had on the return. The 'walls' were lower in F but looking at the photos of the new F on these 744 it looks like they are higher than on the A380.

Everything else in F on the A380, from service to comfort to that huge toilet up front is excellent so will try to remember all before my 744 flight.

I have seat 1K pre-assigned already on the 744 so the only thing left to do is get my seat assignment in J for the A380 to FRA.
    Thanks all for the guidance
Situation is: 1 380 daily from CDG, one 346 and one 380 from FRA daily, one 346 from ZRH daily, one 744 and one 346 from LHR daily.

both 380 flights from CDG and FRA are fully booked.
About the 744 from LHR, my problem is that there seems to be 2 F on the 744:
    > The Suite one is fine, indeed looks like the 380
    http://flight-report.com/en/report-6471.html
(search for keyword "yellow and pink" to find the pictures of the seat)

    > but the other one is a big no no (seems to be the same than on the 346)
    http://flight-report.com/en/report-6014.html
(search for keyword "all window seats taken" to find the pictures of the seat)

If the 744 on LHR has the Suite, I'm fine then
Earlier comments from MANflyer and SilverChris seem to say that...

My trip is in October, any chance from LHR on 380 ?

Can I come back to you on this one? I'm on TG's 744 (noon TG911 flight) at the end of June from LHR to BKK and want to know if it's to be the New F or Old F?

I was going to put it up but to be fair it was from a very nice person at TG who I have known for a few years and who regularly assists me with a little favour here and a slight rule bend there so I'd rather not.

I thanked them for the reply and asked if that was the reason how come they have announced new A380 flights to NRT and KIX. Strangely enough I haven't had a reply to that.....

Thai's MasterCard specials come up quite often. My colleague got a SIN-FRA ticket in J for about S$4k all in.

It was a mix of TG F and J I got for my last trip and all in was about S$6k on the A380 each way so definitely can't complain about TG's pricing. Service is pretty good and we're back on TG again in October to Korea and Japan. Thai gets all my money, KF all my miles and SQ all my redemptions.
