Indeed. LHR was originally slated to be the first place to get TG's 380. Since then they have gone from that to not even getting the refurbed 744 with new F, which is finally about to change.

I know a couple of people at TG in the UK and when asked about the 380 they say they're past caring after the broken promises and will believe when they see it.....adding that it should be flying there by the start of the Northern Winster schedule in october.

I see that article mentions that a service to Manchester remains an option. If I had a pound for every time I had heard TG are coming to MAN I could probably afford a pint in Singapore by now.

In good old TG'd style they are now proposing to keep a 346 on the LHR route. I can see how that will go down with the TG office in London who were already pulling their hair out over the A380 debacle.

I see that Osaka is now going to get an A380 and NRT a second daily. As well as LHR HKG now loses the 380.

But this is TG so prepare for more messing around in the coming weeks and months....

They are sticking a 77W on BNE next year which has pissed us off in Melbourne :-)

I'd be more surprised if they actually stick to that plan.

Mai pen rai Nothing new here. The only thing that is reliably consistent with TG is its inconsistencies be it for hard product or service (even in F).

I wrote to TG London complaining about all this messing around. They usually just ignore complaints but this must be touching a nerve as I got an instant reply with a full copy and paste PR guff about why they've done it, they never guarantee aircraft type (no sh*t, Sherlock...) etc, the bottom line of which they needed to make important technical modifications (read : wings) and that's why.

I thanked them for the reply and asked if that was the reason how come they have announced new A380 flights to NRT and KIX. Strangely enough I haven't had a reply to that.....

This is what gets me.....why can't companies just pretend to be a little more honest instead of giving a story that can instantly come back to bite them in the @rse. Saying 'Operational Reasons' or 'Capacity Evaluation' or some other BS is harder to prove than what they came up with in answer to you.

From your emails it appears TG, and SQ (RE: Website) amongst many others that we know of directly, are beginning to treat customers like idiots. Whilst patronizing it is also offensive and a sure fire way of alienating the people they need the most......those paying for tickets.

I got some TG MasterCard offers again the other day. Don't have exact figures at hand right now, but from SIN it was approx. 3.3k sgd to Europe in C and 6.2k sgd in F. Not bad and the Biz and First fares should earn full mileage
