KA's 320/321s are terrible - I reckon the seat pitch is 29 inches at best because Jetstar feels more spacious with they 30 inch pitch. The 330s are OK I heard.

That will depend, if your CX aircraft has the new shell seat on the 773. Avoid taking the window seats as once somebody reclines the seat, its like J class seats, they slide down, thus blocking your way if you want to leave your seat inflight. If its legroom you fancy, take a bulkhead seat, but sometimes they are reserved for passengers with infants As for the normal Y seats, anywhere but the last row is fine, but if i were you I would not take the exit row.

That was my advice after travelling with them every now and then. No idea for KA, i only flew with them twice on short hops

Sorry for being unclear before, I was of course referring to Dragonair on the HKG - PEK route.

I do fly KA quite often on HKG - PVG and vice versa but have either been in biz or had a special meal (high fibre, very good Western style meal) in economy so cannot really recall the food choice in Y. Itīs better than any other airline on those distances anyway.

Have only had PTVs in biz and not really cared too much about the IFE anyway on the two hour (PEK around three) flights.

Maybe you could consider upgrading for cash at check-in if they allow? KA is very, very nice in J.

I am not sure about your chances with the PTV, but the last time I flew this route (about 2 years back), we got a Type 2 aircraft (not on the return leg though). However, there is nothing much on the PTV and I would suggest if you could, to bring your own entertainment onboard.

Look at here for some menu ideas - I realize that there isn't a HKG-PVG menu, but the food will be basic - with probably 2 choices.

I believe CX's Y class only starts from row 30, so I would assume that mosburger was referring to KA. Avoid the two middle aisle seats on CX (D,G) as I believe the IFE box limits legroom.

    You referring to CX's 773 or KA's 333?
