To Taipei in business

Dear all sqtalkers, I am planning my oct business trip to Taipei.

I would like to get some help from you guys on which business class is better between China Airlines or Eva air.

The reason for choosing either of the airline is because I never try them before.

I hope the hear some advice from all of you travel guru.

Yes, it was a long time ago and yes, they're (apparently) a lot better but still, I'd hesitate before taking them...

hmm. I've been taking both CI and BR often to TPE for almost the past 10 years. safety wise I believe it's more or less no longer an issue.

I've never got to travel in Biz class (except once on BR), so can't really comment. But I feel it's also important to factor in their timing. BR has only 1 flight per day: approx. 1pm SIN departure and 7am TPE departure.

whereas CI has 2:
approx. 10am and 1pm SIN departure and approx. 8am and 4pm TPE departure.

BR launched a new C cabin on their 77W recently and since SIN gets their 77W, there exist a possibility you may get their new product. I like BR.

Never flown CI so can't comment/compare

My Taiwanese customer preferred to fly BR compare to CI when they fly into SIN. I think they are flying on Deluxe/Premium Economy.

If timing is not an issue why not flying TG? Their late flight to TPE is usually on the new A330 which is compareable to SQ. likewise the early morning flight.

The price for biz ex-SIN is also quite decent, around SGD1,500

Yeah i agree BR's flight ex-TPE is too early. I'm also facing the same dilemma. But perhaps the plus point is that BR's 77W has a premium economy

Well it is summer now. 7am is already very bright.. I took 7:xx am flight before from TPE both in summer and winter time. It was a very bright already when I leave my hotel at 5am during summer.

At the end, you have to see what is the most important factor for you. If timing is so important then perhps CI is the choice.

Anyway you still have SQ with good timing out of TPE (2pm and 5pm)

I've caught the TG super-early flight TPE-BKK before... it's actually not too bad as there's no jams in the morning, we high-tailed it all the way to the airport and got there with plenty of time to spare. Oh well, in the end I've gotten very used to the early starts after awhile but I prefer red-eyes.

TG J is never anything to really shout about usually. They get the job done, some are better than others, same old, same old. Can't compare BR or CI as I haven't taken them, 9V-JKL might be able to comment...

Too bad SQ removed their 1AM flight to TPE. That was a VERY convenient time for me.

So now I'm back to 3K and possibly TZ in the future for those midnight flights.

yes very bad .. am very sad with the lost of this sche.. its been the most suitable companion for me to fly in the night and return in the evening .

Flown CI J , I love them , the service , the food ( salty when its flying frm HK ) stewardess said its always salty food from HK catering LOL.

BR never.. but soon, once its become *A

You need to make sure you do not take night flight from TPE. That flight which is the continuation from ICN will always scheduled on old A333, while the morning flight nomally is new A330.

Of cource you can always get TG-ed

How I wish SQ has 7pm flight from SIN to TPE which will arrive ard midnight and return on red eye
