  • Will emirates fly A380 from sin to Mel? In 2012

Hi all, just wondering will emirates replace some of it's Sin-Mel 777 to A380. Really hope they will consider......

I think it's possible but I don't think it's a good thing. Unless one really cares about an inch or so more in seat width, or if one flies premium class, flying the Emirates A380 is a nightmare given the number of people they try to fit into it.

EK has only confirmed DXB-MEL-AKL EK408/409 going A380 effective 01OCT, so possibly in 2013-15 timeframe we might see a DXB-SIN-MEL service?

I think you mean 406/407? 408/409 go via KUL and terminate in MEL.

Wow, which means long way to go..........just wondering for route DXB-KUL, passanger might not be as much as compare to DXB-SIN right? Just wondering for KUL sector, why not just use the 777-300ER.....

            Please do some research.

            KUL has 3 flights a day. One with a 380, one with a 77W, one with a 773.......

Colleague just flew back on DXB-CMB-SIN last night arriving 10pm, he also flew on SIN-DXB on the outbound for New Year's last year - he said both flights were less than 50% full. He said plenty of people had '5 seats to myself' (in Y, obviously). I'm not sure about the seat config, and he could be exaggerating (Germans...), so I'll leave that for the seat config experts to confirm/deny

This is probably in their long term plans but certainly not in the near term. DXB-MEL has yet to see direct flights on the 388. This is scheduled to commence only in 2012Q4. There are more slot restricted destinations that require a 388 on EK's network. Probably in 2013/2014 will we see EK do DXB-SIN-MEL.
