The next day, decided to have something different for breakfast, went to a place called Serenade for dim sum...nice view though and the food not bad at all...So, took the train from Mongkok to Tsim Tsa Tsui and walk to the harbour which the restaurant is located...along the way, snapped a few shots

Sheraton HKG - KeithMel fav properties in HKG

The underground tunnel which connects to the restaurant

Another view of Sheraton from the front harbour

    The legendary Peninsula Hotel

The restaurant which i had the dim sum

Table cloth with the restaurant branding - Serenade

The day of departure, i left the hotel at 12.45pm and reached HKIA at 1.50pm for my SQ 861 flight back to s'pore..This time around, for a change, tried the J class for the A380 on my return...

When i was there, check in counter was already open with 3 economy check in counter, 2 business class and 1 suite check in. Not many ppl lining up in the J & R class check in and was told by the check in staff that today's load for R class in zero!

They have build up a new check in zone which feature the A380 at the economy check in counter and 3 banners stating the new A380 flight..

The J class and suite check in counter

        The J class boarding pass

There was a very long queue at the immigration - as usual in HKIA but took us 15 mins to clear it..which i think it's very efficient indeed. After clearing the immigration, went for some shopping at the duty free and proceed to the SKL J class..sorry, did not manage to snap photos of the lounge as i was busy checking my mails then...just the entrance of it..that's all

After walking out from SKL, i made my way to Gate 60 departure whereby you need to take the shuttle train to the next terminal...SQ A380 has now taken over EVA's previous gate

Some of the big bird shots before annocement of boarding begins...

          Today's load for SQ 861

          R=0 J= Full Y= Full

Let's start the J class snapping going on

tried using the USB cable which connects to my hard disk, and was unable to connect it...wonder why..

A snap shot of a CX 744 while we were taxing to the runway for departure..

This KA 330 which also about to depart on the same runway - where the cockpit staff keep on looking at our lovely bird...

After a powerfull and quite take off, we made a left turn heading to southern part of china..last view of HKIA

The difference of the headset from J and R is that is would have bose as an headset and not J class

The slip ons for J class (for R class, please refer to my earlier post)

After 5 mins from the take off, seat belt sign went off and the FS came out and hand over the headset and serving nuts - as usual and after take off drinks which i had - citrus royale (orange juice with a twist of pineapple juice and soda water)

Missed the starters photo this time around...only the leftovers

            The main course...stir fried noddle..

And the dessert - Haggen Dazs ice cream

Good to see Haagen-Dazs on an SQ flight again, albeit in J only.

Zero R pax on an inaugural flight is downright embarassing... ouch!

People voting with their wallet, seeing as Y / J are totally full.

BKK-SIN last night they didn't even bother serving Dreyer's ice-cream like 3 weeks ago in Y. Dessert ex BKK was the usual slice of Thai paste with egg bits on top. Back to the topic now and don't want to derail the thread.

yup guys, they are serving the Haagen-dazs on my hkg-sin SQ861 as well, the jumbo flight. Of cos the haagen-dazs in Y cannot be compared to what kevSQ has in J...hee...his is a premium version shown above. The Y class i had is a normal choco H-D ice-cream.

SQ has also removed their appetizers in Y on BKK flights. Looks like TG has the best offerings on SIN-BKK flights now.

More photos on J...and some comparisons as well..

Was noticing that the J class compartment which where we places the drinks glases differs...there is 2 kind of design compartment...one is a slightly longer and bigger version where you can place glasses (as in drinks) and at the same time you can place nuts as well and the other version is just fit for a glass...

This is the version with a bigger compartment..

And this is the smaller ones...

Another shot of the slightly smaller version of the compartment..i notice that the smaller ones is located only at the window seat...and the ones in the middle is the bigger ones...wonder is this is in all 77W and A380 or just the A380..

2 hours into the flight, lights were dimmed...

Almost reaching Changi...the flight info which we had on SQ 856 on the 9th wasn't updated..

Left changi around 8ish and went straight to Meritus Mandarin...(wanted to try something different this time around) which not to my liking actually. Some advice whoever who wants to stay there for now:-

                              1) Was staying in their premier room - which is very rundown (according to the front office, it's their recent newly refurbish room) and looks really old

                              2) They are renovating the older blocks, therefore, you will hear construction going on regardless which floor or block you are at

Try not to stay there for now Ask SQ 0303, he was in the room...(that's not what you guys are thinking )

                              Shots of the room

                                And the elevator area..

                                Some shots at Ochard Rd...

The exterior side of it looks pretty impressive and modern huh? Wait till you are in the room...

Well, overall, it was a great trip as i guess many of you guys have been on board te A380 within the classes...Probably should look forward for the MEL do soon...
