As a matter of interest, why did you fly them instead of our dearly beloved SQ ?. Price, convenience, change of scenery ? Better lounge ?.
SKL T3 is still way better than the Sats Lounge that 9W uses in Singapore while I could care less about the lounge at BOM as no airline has a good lounge anyway. This is despite both airlines have recently relocated to their new lounges.
Originally posted by emperorsr View Posti want to express my gratitude to the OP. SQ's prices to BOM is literally double of 9W or even TG. so it was down to the two carriers for me.
but even without the *A mileage (unless it goes into M&M or something..im in BD), the tR was so excellent that i will fly with 9W. and now i know what seat i will get. and being the amenity kit and pj collector that i am, this flight is clearly the way to go.
so thanks. if it was not for this, i prob would have flown with TG...

I've booked my seat with 9W. Could not book online as the booking engine defaults to the cheapest business fare, P code or something, with lots of restrictions. Had to go to the office here in SIN to get a flexi fare. Which turned out to be a joy. The ticketing agent, Seema was GORGEOUS. And incredibly friendly and professional. It felt like being taken care of in a spa. And when I asked her about the PJs for the overnight flight, and she had no info regarding that, she offered to make inquiries on my behalf. Which she did discreetly by going to the back and calling the airport. I also asked her about whether I could buy 9W model planes inflight, and she said yes. But here is the doozy. When I was about to leave, she went to the back and whipped out a huge model of their 77W plane and offered it to me. I went out of there floating among clouds. SQ has been good to me, but this was generosity beyond duty. There were a lot of other little actions and gestures that made me feel like my business was appreciated. It made me rethink my flying patterns and strategies for South Asia even though putting the miles on M&M won't earn me my base miles.
If the ticketing office is any indication, and based on this TR, I would say I am very encouraged and am looking forward to the flight this Tues. I never usually like to try other airlines unless circumstances force me to. But this time, it is voluntary.Have Passport Will Travel!

I am speechless. It looks like that you have already enjoyed the service of 9W even before your flight begins with them. Amazing! SIN - BOM will not offer PJ and turn down as it is not an overnight flight. However, you should get it on BOM - SIN just like I did.
By the way, when I was trying to book my flight on SQ last month, the 77W was not servicing for that day. Thus, I assumed the 77W was already taken off BOM. I guess I was wrong. I apologize. Looking at the website, 77W is back again.
It is now the morning flight that is being flown only 4 weekly on 772SQ.
