This serves as a warning to SQ that if they continue to disappoint loyal customers, they might defect to their possibly strongest competitor

I did almost gave into upgrading the return to J (seat was available) - but it has been quite some time since I was in Y for 14.5 hours. So I gave it a try.

It wasn't too bad really. Well, it helped that I was able to secure the emergency exit seat 44C both ways in advance (being a Marco Polo Club Silver member).

CX does not love me. I am just a lowly Silver.
But I do enjoy flying CX and their The Wing/The Pier lounges!

One big minus was on their IFE. No AVOD.

Did you get the very very strange IFE where there is no IFE controller but instead it's on the armrest too?!

On board the A333, the IFE is as what you described.

Yep, that's the one big blemish on their offering. It's so boring waiting for the selections to loop back to the beginning. Oh well, I guess that's what books and magazines are for.
