Just came home to on SQ 245. The FA indicated that they are staying in a hotel on the Gold Coast due to the recent floods.

My friends who live in New Farm evacuated to higher ground as a precaution. Their basement is now a write-off, but the main part of the house from ground floor up is unaffected, so long as river levels remain as they are. Thankfully Brisbane isn't as badly affected as initially predicted, with river levels at 'only' 4.6m rather than 5.5m as modelled. Fingers crossed... I hope the worst is truly over.
My thoughts are with all Queenslanders affected by this terrible disaster, particularly those who've lost their lives or loved ones.

Hope your sister's escape any major drama, Kyo.
Just saw live footage of UQ under water. Looks like summer class is off for the time being. Parts of it. Not all of it in case people start to wonder

The majority of my immediate family's in BNE but only my sister's in any sort of danger around Cooper's Plains. The floodwaters are a puddle around her front doorstep, and the 'killer tide' is expected to come tomorrow (Thursday). Everyone's bracing themselves...

In India hope to be fllying back home on Saturday. Half the suburb where my house is situated is likely to be under water as Brisbane River bursts its banks. Luckly my house is high enough to escape the floods. I cannot wait to get back to provide temporary accomodation for those who need somewhere to stay.
It has been raining in Brisbane for the last six weeks and we only in the beginning of the wet season. I have gave concerns for the next few months.
The death toll over from the flash fludding in the Lockyer Valley now stands at 10 with around 70 missing.

Anyone flying into Brisbane tomorrow?
They'd be flying into a state of emergency as flood water are now flowing to towards the city and with continuous rain, parts of the city are being evacuated as they expect it to be the worse flood since 1893.
So far 75% if the state are affected and we know how big that state is.
