B787 Wing Flex Needs a Little Getting Used To

I'm trying very hard to be rational here and not allow the sight to unsettle me but I reckon even I will take some time getting reassured, especially on a very bumpy flight when the wings "flutter".

Yep, saw the ANA trials in Dec and actually, I'm still keen on trying the 787. As long as they follow the bamboo philosophy, I'm cool - Bamboo Philosophy: Be like the bamboo, bend but don't break with the wind...

When the B787 comes into operation, its wing flex during take-offs and landings may take some getting use to for the unacquainted. The flex is I believe a result of the light composite materials used. While I'm sure that this is safe and has been extensively tested, it may seem a little disconcerting for first time B787 passengers.

It is a little unsettling to read - "The first flights of prototype aircraft were delayed after a weakness was discovered where the fuselage and wings join. Boeing engineers say that this area of the fuselage was reinforced, resolving the problem".
