Best bet is try to get registration just before you board. Nose gear door will give you a partial registration eg 9V-SWT will be WT under the nose gear door. Last door towards the tail will give you the full registration. Inside I believe it could be near door 1L.

Or you could just ask the crew

I still remember when I redeemed my first award tickets for the queen and myself many years back, they were for SQ64 SIN-BKK, Business Class, as a treat for her. I had checked in online the day before on the upper deck. At the airport, I specifically asked the SATS girl if the aircraft deployed was indeed 9V-SMx (can't recall the registration number now), as I did not want my plans to be jeopardised by equipment swaps.

The most common answer i get from crew and ground staff alike when i ask for the registration: Oh, the registration is 777.

I don't think the ground staff would have the registration of the aircraft in hand during check-in. Cabin crew, especially the IFS, should know the registration of the aircraft.

I've received the same replies and blur looks from CCs when asking the registration. Then I would just rephrase it by asking, "This is 9V ? ". I always got the answer straight away.

                I'm always told "SQ119".

Hopefully not when you're on board an A333...

The response i get when aboard one of those Anglo-French contraptions: "Oh the registration is Airbus"

My experience is much better with the crew, most of them immediately gave the number to me. If not, they came back within a minute or two. Never received any silly replies.

I think you can spot the registration in gallery.
