The transit hotel is very reasonable (around US$50 IIRC) for four hours; the best one is probably T3 but you need to make your reservation early. Some cheaper rooms without private bathrooms are also available, although I think only in T1 or T2.

If you don't have access through your airline or Priority Pass, you can pay to enter a contract lounge. Some have napping spots and facilities such as health clubs and massages (but check what is available in the middle of the night). Most charge for alcohol if it is available. Also, most have a time limit, but I'm not sure how this is enforced. You might have to pay to use the showers too.

I've seen some general duty free shops open after midnight. Also, the bookstore in T1 under the contract lounge that DL uses is decent and keeps very long hours, probably 24/7. Otherwise, the choices are a drug store, a grocery store, fast food outlets, and IIRC a sports bar. Inbound duty free is also open, but you need to first commit to entering the country.

For so few hours, I wouldn't spent the money for the Crowne Plaza. I'm not sure I'd spend the money on JetQuay either; it would be a cool experience to do but it seems a shame to miss a wonderful and efficient airport.

If you do want to enter Singapore, there are night spots that stay open very late, although be careful about the lines to get a cab from them back to the airport.

Major hawker centers are open all night. The Long Bar in Raffles Hotel is supposed to stay open to 2 or 3 am (claims to be shere the Singapore sling was invented, but IMO too sweet and an unnatural color). The new casino probably stays open.

The plane spotting/smoking terraces (butterfly garden, etc.) are open 24/7. You can probably spend several hours exploring the airport without getting bored even though many stores are closed. Remember that if you land at 1 am and depart at 7 am, you don't really have six hours because you may have to go to the transfer desk as well as getting to the gate early for security procedures.

Once again, nothing beats JetQuay's 'transit' package...

Or you could go landside to the Crowne Plaza and spend a few hours there - very nice airport hotel. Probably the best airport hotel in the world!

You can go and watch a film in the Movie Theatre. Also check this link out for other things to do: http://www.changiairport.com/at-chan.../movie-theatre

As for the shops most operate from 6.00am to 1.00am. unless you are in Terminal 1 then it is 6.00am to 12.00am. (it is easy to get from one terminal to another) However some shops are open 24 hours, but don`t remember which ones.

You should use the SQ Silver Kris lounge, if flying with Singapore Airlines.
