JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — Bombs exploded at the Ritz-Carlton and Marriott hotels in the Indonesian capital on Friday, ripping the facade off the Ritz and killing at least four foreigners, police said.

I was at the Four Seasons last week...checked out Thursday...was going to stay at the JW but it was more expensive... truly shocking circumstances..

However, as many of you who visit Jakarta know, security at these hotels is an absolute joke. The checks are there, but they're not enforced. I rarely get my bag opened up. I'm always walking through the metal detectors with my phone in my pocket making the noise go off but nobody cares. It's a good day if the guy inspecting under the car is looking at the mirror rather than up at the sky.
