Thai Airways is considering using one of its Airbus A380 aircraft on the Sydney-Bangkok route from 2010. The carrier has six A380s on order, with the first four to be delivered in 2010. Thai’s vice president alliance and
loyalty management, Pridi Boonsue, told Travel Today the strong demand from
Australia was a major factor in the decision. “We have said we will fly London-Bangkok and Frankfurt-Bangkok using the A380, but we are thinking of extending that to Sydney-Bangkok,” Boonsue said. “We have over 400,000 Australians visiting Thailand each year, so we want to provide that good connection to Europe and especially serve that UK market.”
