  • Bali (DPS) - visa on arrival and fast track

I have booked my flights to to Bali for the end of the year and was just wondering about the visa on arrival. Also, I hear that the immigration queues at the airport on arriving can be up to 2 hours.

I understand that there is a fast-track lane that one can pay for. Does anyone know how I can arrange this? I will be flying SQ J, does this entitle me to the fast-track lane?

Also, am I right to assume that Singapore is on the visa-waiver list?

    Many thanks in advance!

I don't recall this feature. I think in J, your main advantage is that you exit the plane earlier than the masses. But then again, maybe my ease of entry is because I use a passport from a visa-waiver country.

Any Asean national doesn't need a visa, I think.

As jjpb3 says, no VOA required for Singaporean passport holders.

When I visited Bali in May, I was one of the first off the plane and had no trouble (with a British passport) clearing immigration in a few minutes. No doubt it depends whether any other flights have arrived.

      Nothing for SQ J.

There are services available which will AFAIK meet you off the plane and escort you through immigration, e.g. this I found using Google just now:

Probably best to ask your hotel to recommend or arrange.

From couple of times arriving at DPS from SIN on SQ C, I just walked faster to the arrival direction, and it would at least be at front of the line for VOA. I think the kiosks are towards the left side, while the Indonesian passport holders as well as APEC and ASEAN are to the right booths area.

I am not so sure whether a fast track service is worth the money. But, hey, everyone's life style is different.

Have a wonderful holiday in Bali.

I think that service is VERY expensive. For significantly less than that, a local colleague has gotten 8 of us through

I was in Bali in March, the there were two queues, one for VOA and the other for Visa Waiver. The VOA queue was very short, I was second or third in the queue (and I was flying Y).

The Visa Waiver queue was longer, but moved very fast. I was through passport control within about 5 mins.

i was just there a few days ago...after getting off the plane and seeing a ridiculously long queue for immigration, i paid for my visa (which is a very fast line) and just walked up to a guy that was seated at a table at the back of the line, gave him $10, and asked him to take care of my stamps.... i waltzed right thru the crew line and was done with everything in 3 mins.

ps: my cousin had arrived on TG an hour and a half prior, and i made it thru the line before he did... money well spent, especially if arriving mid-afternoon.

Singapore is definitely on the visa-free list.

A word of caution. No matter how fast you get past Immigration, it's going to a long wait for your bags, no matter what class you travel or whether your bags have priority tags. That's always been my experience at the Bali airport. I once waited a good 25-30 mins for my bag after flying J on SQ and racing thru Immigration. Now if you have no checked-in luggage, it'd be a different story...

If you are on SQ J you should have no problem. The line will be short for both the VOA and the processing of your passport. If you are sitting at the back of the economy section it will be different.

I've usually had no problems with my bags being first off the the plane if you are flying J. If you have a surfboard that will take forever though as they all come at once with the last of the bags.

Many thanks for all the advice!

I contacted the hotel and they offer a VIP assistance program for 40US$ per person, where you will be met at immigration by a representative, who will take your passports and whizz you through immigration cutting all potential queues. I think the main advantage is if you need to apply for visas as that might take slightly longer.

taipeiflyer's experience is well noted although I am still not sure if it is worth the cost.

My contacts get me through DPS VOA process in less than 5 minutes and charge 150K IDR per pax, no charge for kids, but no airport transfer.

The problem is there is no expedite for your baggage!

I would be happy to try and assist any SQTalkers.
