  • More stringent requirement for Chinese visas

The requirement for a Chinese Business Visa is now much more stringent with rules just introduced yesterday....

Singaporians now need a visa for business trips (still no visa required for visiting family). Unsure if one is needed for touism.

For business trips, amongst other things you need to show confirmed air travel + hotel stay, plus get a original letter for the "notification of issuance of visa" from the local government in China. However no one in China seems to know where to get this letter from

Also same day processing is no longer available (in Singapore at least...)

Just a heads up for those planning to travel to China!

In the US, they doubled the fees last Fall in anticipation of the Olympics. Ridiculous!

Well in my case I travel with a lot of IT equipment... not really easy to explain that one to passport control or customs!

Well, I'm heading up to PEK tonight for a connecting flight... hope the 24hr transit rule is still in effect!
