  • CX Crew Threaten to Strike on Xmas Day

    AFP, 11 December 2007,-

    "Hundreds of Cathay Pacific flight attendants staged a protest Monday over a new company medical plan, while the threat of Christmas strike action has not been ruled out, unions said.

    Around 500 cabin crew marched to the Hong Kong carrier's offices to protest the introduction of a new insurance policy, which will see them have to pay for doctors visits from next year

    TK Lee, general secretary of the Cathay Pacific Airways flight attendants union, said leaders were now discussing their next step, but he would not rule out strike action.

    Media reports have said unions could organise a concerted campaign over the Christmas period"

    Hmm. I read in the IHT this morning UK time that a strike was ruled out.

      Gosh...I am flying on 19th Dec from LAX to HKG and then 23rd Dec from HKG to KUL....Hopefully my flight does not be interupted...

          In HK today and read the South China Post stating that the crew union and CX made an MOU and things is back to normal...
