I completely missed this thread as I had my head buried in the A380 inaugural flight thread all day yesterday (birthday) trying to buy myself (bid on) what would be an outrageously expensive birthday present!

The single seat one-way Y SIN-SYD's are going for about USD$5,000 at present which is above my comfort zone!

I think the bidding will moderate towards the middle of the 2 week auction period with demand increasing again right at the end. As long as the media circus doesn't get hold of it I might have half a chance.

happy birthday ian goodwin. best of luck in your pursuit of an inaugural ticket. i certainly hope to join you and hopefully many other sqtalkers, but i am currently encountering the same situation as you. hopefully time brings down the prices at least a little... i'm certainly keeping my fingers crossed. cheers!
