  • How does TG First Class compare to SQ First?

I need to fly to Europe on urgent business this Friday... unfortunately SQ F is already sold out on my route (SIN-ZRH) So I will probably book TG First from BKK to ZRH. I have never been in TG F so far... how does it compare to SQ's First (Skysuite era). Overall comfort? Food? Amenities? Service? Any other tips?

Alternatively I consider LX F, also BKK-ZRH. Any suggestions which Cabin offers a better experience? TG? or LX?

    Thanks

Re TG F, jjpb3's recent trip report may be useful:

Thanks... I have usually no time to search for existing threads... so the link was very useful

TG F has slipped in the last 12-18 months but it can still be very good on it's day. It's not as good as SQ F and they have cut back on a few things recently (caviar and (bizarrely) drinks menu's) but the seat is comfortable and they have their new A346 on the ZRH flights which I like in F.

Food ex-BKK is generally good and you get decent ground support at BKK, including an escort from and to the lounge etc. Crews these days are quite hit and miss but my last two flights in F on the 346 have been better than on the 744. Not sure why that is.

Haven't flown LX F so unable to offer a comparison.

LX meals are a bit in a small size in my opinion. And, for the PJs hunter, there is no PJ on LX.

If you want to experience the famous FIRST CLASS TERMINAL in FRA, you should take LH on the way back. Yeah, in ZRH you will at least be invited to Swiss F lounge (more quiet and less crowded) then have 3 hours connection at FRA prior to LH flight to BKK to enjoy the FCT and would be driven to the plane.
On the way to ZRH, you can try TG F so that you can have the TG Spa Lounge access at BKK.

I definitely agree with that suggestion. The TG Spa Lounge is enough to make me want to overnight at BKK to be able to enjoy the few hours to take advantage the treatments and calm before TG916 (I'm not sure the Spa Lounge would be as empty before the late night flights to Europe). You'll get a choice of one-hour options, and the best-sounding one (to me) requires oil, so if your transit is too short, as was the case with me, you won't have much time to take a shower. (It was no trouble for the masseuse, however, to fulfil my request to focus on my back, even if my treatment was nominally the head and shoulders massage.)

I have to say, TG F ground services at BKK beat SQ's at SIN by quite a distance ... at least so far, with T3 offerings still unknown, and speaking as a non-PPS member.
