  • Fast Track to Frequent Stayer Status?

I know I can dig deep in TOF. But I am sure you guys are pretty much quick in answering this.
I want to get a status match on my hotel programs. Right now I just requalified for my SPG Platinum. Thus, thinking ahead for better service at Conrad Bali, I would like to get a status for Hilton Honors. Anyone can help me with th elink or how to contact for matching status? I know SQ gives out Hilton Gold for the PPS based in Asia. But, unfortunately I don't live there.
Thanks in advance for the help.

    Cheers,
    CGK

It takes 10 stays with Hilton to earn Gold status. 4 stays will earn you Silver.

CGK, if only you'd mentioned this a few months ago!

There was a link posted on TOF in January (oddly enough, I first read about it in a BA seating policy thread) which gave you instant Hilton Gold valid for 2 years simply for signing up online. It was an offer made to EK Skywards members but the online signup didn't check for your status in that programme...

Unfortunately, it expired at the end of January. I did PM a SQTalker about this and understand he got the status. I'd assumed the rest of you already had it, e.g. StarG, MAN Flyer etc!

SuperJonJon, I believe the promotion for instant Radisson Gold status (top tier in that programme) may still be valid if you're interested. (It's actually for KL FFP members.) However, I understand the benefits are not great and you have to argue to get them...

What else can you do ? Pay (!) to get instant PC Gold status, get someone to recommend you for PC RA status, get an Amex card in some countries to get SPG gold status (great for 4pm checkouts) etc.

Hilton will definitely match your Plat status with Diamond, or at least give you an easily attainable challenge. I don't have a link as I did it the reverse (got SPG Plat from my Hilton Diamond) but a call to customer services should get you the right place to fax or email your statement.

Ah yes - a most helpful PM it was...
But I've yet to road test the status as I haven't been able to find myself in a city with no Starwood hotels thus far.
Was going to finally use it at the Hilton CMB when I was planning on going to CMB to commence a DONE4 but Traitor Air canned CMB after the bombs.

And yes I know that HH Gold has much better benefits than SPG Gold, but unlike airlines it's a bit hard to cherry pick a hotel program while still continuing to stay with your favourite brands.

Since all PC points, regardless of how they were gained, count towards Gold, it's better value to buy 20 000 points, get Gold status, then put the 20 000 points towards a redemption. The amount spent buying the 20 000 points (US$100) would be roughly equivalent to a one night's stay at a HI or CP anyway. I think quite a few HIs or CPs can be had for 25 000 pts/night. Or much less if it's a HIX.

You'll then earn more points per dollar spent (unless it's an IC in which case it's still 2000 points per STAY). A few promos later and you'll be set for PC Plat status which is where the real goodies like guaranteed room availability or room upgrades come in. Room upgs are pretty iffy at some properties though, the CP MEL's idea of an upgrade is to another same-sized room with a view of Crown Casino...

I think you also get PC Gold status along with purchasing IC Ambassador status, or PC Plat if you know someone who'd recommend you for Royal Amb.

In general I think it's much easier getting PC status than the others, barring matches, FFP-comps etc. The overall quality of ICHG properties other than ICs however....

Oops sorry for dragging the thread OTish....

Elite Golds have benefited too in the past. Don't know about now

Not really....HH gives out Gold to KrisFlyer members in Asia based on their targetting. Status has nothing to do with it.

Email a screenshot of your SPG statement with a letter promising them business to diamond@hilton.com or flyertalk@hilton.com

Q: Do I have to have basic HHonors account number to get the status match, or can they just enroll me for a new one?
                    Thank you.

If you have an existing account, just give them that number. If you don't already have one, I would imagine they could create a new account number for you, but it's probably better form if you were to create one yourself before requesting the comp/match.

                        Thank you.
I just created one. Well don't really know what is the best options though:

                        - HHonors Points and Variable Miles
                        - HHonors Points and Fixed Miles
                        - HHonors Points and HHonors Points

You know I do like bed hopping. So most of the stay will be just for one night only. Well in Bali at least 2 nights usually.
                        TIA.

Looks like Hiltons will not give me the matching. No reply after giving them my new membership number.
