  • Europe airport tax questions

Am thinking of redeeming an award ticket via Europe. Looking at options including LH and LX.

My bigger concern is: which European airports have the highest and lowest taxes? I know LHR takes the prize but I'm not too sure if I'll even incur taxes if I transit and not stopover? (<24 hours)

If you're referring to transiting in London the UB tax (Passenger service charge) still applies, but the much bigger GB (UK APD) doesn't.

Departing from London for long-haul is prohibitively expensive when flying Biz and First: 184 GBP is pretty steep.

Germany has now 42.18 EUR which is not too bad but still comes on top.

All other countries are good as a starting point!

        Thanks for the replies.

I might do XXX-FRA/LHR-YYY (<24hrs stop). In this case, I only pay transit taxes for both airports?

CDG can be bad in business and FC.

Another issue to consider is how premium economy tickets are treated with respect to airport "luxury" taxes.
