When I bought CX tix on-line, is there any where in the process that I can get seat assignments?

For J / F class yes I think there is.

Yes there are seat assignments before the payment process.

Related Q: Will I ever get my ticket number? I only got a 5 character rec loc on the confirmation email. I can view my booking online but the info contained there is pretty bare. Just don't want any nasty surprises at check-in.
