  • Buying electronic gadgets from US

    Hey guys,

I'm planning to get a laptop from US, coz somehow the laptops there are much cheaper. I was just wondering if there would be any problems if the item is used in Malaysia. I know the power socket is different (we can buy a converter, no?), but other than that, would ther ebe any problem?

    cheers

Isn't it cheaper in the US?
I think MacPro, yes. And laptop now has the voltage that can be used anywhere in the world and just use the adaptor for the plug. So, i think you won't have any problem in Malaysia.

Power would be no problem as they are all 110-240 volts these days & as CGK says, you can just buy an adapter.
The only things I would think of is that the software settings would all reflect US timezones, language etc & you would need to change them (easy) and...
Make sure you get a reputable brand and an international warranty so you don't have to ship it back to the US if it breaks.
